White pitahaya as a natural additive: potential usage in cosmetic industry

The awareness of some harmful side effects the chemicals contained in synthetic cosmetics has increased demand for herbal-based cosmetic products today.
 White pitahaya fruit and peel methanol extracts were prepared to determine their usage potential industry. Firstly, we investigated antimicrobial activity against test microorganisms using disc diffusion assay. We also determined minimal inhibition bactericidal or fungicidal concentrations. Then, assayed a commercial cream containing white probiotic Lactobacillus fermentum MA-7 strain microorganisms. Finally, measured sun protection factors with extracts.
 exhibited formulation extract had highest zone diameter 11.25 mm Escherichia coli O157:H7. value among was as 6.66 23.34, respectively.
 results indicate that have effective antibacterial antifungal properties, well high factors, therefore they could be used natural preservatives
